A bit of post-fermentative cheesiness and yeastiness gives way on the nose to scents of mango and papaya. The palate impression is glossy, subtly oily and lush, but introduces welcome juiciness and tang of grapefruit and lemon to complement the mango and papaya, while helping to offset the wine’s sheer sweetness. The superbly sustained finish introduces a honeyed element while preserving both the luscious tropical fruit and the bright citricity that went before, making for a remarkable combination of richness and animation.
