Score 92/100 · Drink 2003-2011, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003
From a parcel that borders Clos de la Roche, the 2000 Morey-St.-Denis Les Chaffots exudes dark fruit aromas. This dense, medium-bodied offering is soft, satin-textured, concentrated, and deep. Loads of spicy plums and blackberries are found throughout its flavorful character and lengthy finish. It should be consumed over the next 7-8 years. Very deep, bright crimson, slightly chewy with some green notes. Longer term wine than the Gevrey. Lots of tannin. Much more extracted. (JR)
