Tasting notes
The 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois displays a nose of sweet black cherries with some hints of jammy raspberries. Its gorgeous attack is broad, lush, crammed with sweet blackberries as well as cassis. Its medium-bodied personality leads to a structured, slightly firm finish. Drink it between 2005 and 2010. Good full ruby. Blackberry and violet on the nose. Sweet and strong in the mouth, with highly aromatic blackberry, violet and spice flavors. Shows strong spine and impressive length for a village wine. Magnien says the soil here is not that different from that his Cote de Nuits-Villages. But this is more perfumed in the mouth.
