Tasting notes
The 2013 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard, aged primarily in neutral oak, tips the scales at 15.3% alcohol and comes from the vineyard owned by Morgan Twain-Peterson. It’s a small cuvée of 120 cases, but a beauty. Spicy, dense, briary black cherry and blackcurrant jump from the glass of this opaque ruby/purple wine. Full-bodied and offering loads of pepper, meat and earthiness, it should drink well for at least 7-10 years.

From vines planted in 1910, and cropped at less than 1.5 tons of fruit per acre, the Bilbro family (the owners of Limerick Lane) give enough fruit to Peterson to make his 2013 Zinfandel Limerick Lane (only 125 cases produced). It exhibits lots of peppery, charcuterie and meaty notes intermixed with red and blackberries, baking spices and earth in its medium-bodied, elegant style. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years.
