This wine is no longer designated as a Riserva. The Quintodecimo 2020 Taurasi Vigna Grande Cerzito is a wine of expanded breadth and depth that is packed tight with flavor and texture. With only 2,135 bottles produced (in a heavy glass bottles), this Taurasi is redolent of baked plum, sweet cinnamon and baking spice. Indeed, the oak imprint is more obvious in this wine that sees 18 months of aging in new oak barrel. The oak is front and center at this young stage.

The 2020 Taurasi Vigna Grande Cerzito is youthfully coy, opening with a dusty bouquet of dried flowers, incense, black tea and camphor. It is soothingly round and graceful in style, with crisp wild berry fruit and tactile mineral tones elevated by a core of vibrant acidity. Sweet tannins frame the finish remarkably well, while nuances of violet pastille and confectionery spice resonate over a tart blackberry tinge. Much like the Vigna Quintodecimo, the Grande Cerzito leans into the vividly ripe nature of the vintage yet maintains wonderful harmony.
