Opaque ruby. Lively cherry and black currant aromas, lifted by floral and cracked pepper nuances. Bitter cherry, cassis and licorice flavors tighten up slowly with air while picking up a suggestion of dark chocolate. Fine-grained tannins build steadily on a smooth, gently sweet finish that echoes the floral and pepper notes.

The nose of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon had strong herbal aromas intermixed with spices and blackberries, quite Cabernet but without the monotones of so many Cabs from Chile, more austere and somehow floral (which is a bit of a contradiction). The varietal line is produced with destemmed grapes fermented in stainless steel and aged in used barrels for 12-14 months. The palate is succulent and juicy, with a velvety texture, quite polished and with integrated acidity. There is 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Carménère and 2% Malbec, which add complexity and layers to the wine that comes through as complex with elegance. It also shows the telltale tannins from Cabernet. 75,000 bottles produced.
