Tasting notes
Deep red. Intense red and dark berry aromas are complemented by potpourri and incense, with a mineral nuance building with air. Sappy, penetrating and spicy, offering sweet black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and a touch of star anise. Closes lively and long, with impressive clarity, silky tannins and a lingering floral note.

The Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard is another dark, powerful 2012 from Siduri. There is plenty of depth and richness in the glass, but the flavors lack freshness and lift. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather and licorice flesh out on the finish.
The 2012 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch’s medium ruby color is followed by earthy, underbrush, foresty aromas, and medium-bodied, pleasant, but undistinguished flavors that are not terribly dense, surprising given the vintage. It should drink well for 3-4 years. For clarity, I have included the wines produced under the Novy label with those from Siduri as they are made by the same people. Tel. (707) 578-3882
Floral aromatics and bright red cherry fruit inform the 2012 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard. The influence of whole clusters is quite present in the wine's perfumed, high-toned personality. Today, the 2012 is a bit raw. I expect it will come together even more fully with more time in barrel.
