The 2023 Pinot Noir Les Saintes Claires comes from a site with very little topsoil that sits on Oligocene limestone below the Grand Cru Furstentum. Brightness and tart red fruit rise from the glass. The most exquisite, aromatic, bright expression of Morello cherry shines. The tannins feel like little flakes of ash that disintegrate into fine creaminess at the moment of touch, superfine, delicate and yet utterly present. This is purity, poise, elegance, fruit and Pinot Noir with eternal coolness. (Bone-dry)

In spite of its almost racy acidity, this great Alsace pinot noir already has a seductively silky personality. A cornucopia of red berry and red beet aromas, but also incredible chalky intensity that takes your breath away, as it and the fine tannins build at the super-long finish. In spite of all the power, it’s also delicate and very subtle. From biodynamically grown grapes. One-third whole cluster. Just 12% new oak for the barrel aging.
