Score 94/100 · Drink 2013-2025, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Apr 2013
Deep garnet-brick in color, the 2003 Hill of Grace has notes of wild blueberries and blackberries marked by a gentle undercurrent of sage, pepper and exotic spices and a touch of cedar. Full-bodied and densely packed with rich fruit, it has medium-firm, grainy tannins and a fresh acid line throughout the long finish. Approachable now, it will drink to 2025+. The berries shrivelled in this vintage. Blackish crimson. Savoury and coconut nose. Very rich and opulent. Not quite enough acidity? Lots of salt! Thick. Could do with more refreshment. (JR)
