(from Vine Hill Ranch in Oakville): Good medium ruby. Sexy, ripe aromas of raspberry, cassis, blueberry, licorice and flowers. Dense, fat and ripe, but with a lovely savory quality to the middle palate. Distinctly deeper than the Napa Valley bottling, with an intriguing element of melted licorice. Finishes with sweet, even tannins that coat the teeth.

It possesses striking gorgeous inner perfume and an attractive fleshiness in a juicy, up-front style that is well suited to near-term drinking.
