Tasting notes
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mast Ranch from Yountville in southern Napa Valley has an attractive nose of blackcurrants and black cherries followed by deep, medium to full-bodied flavors that are pure, showing loads of cassis fruit, a delicate touch with the oak, and a rich, textured mouthfeel and finish. This is a pretty, elegant, yet authoritative wine to drink over the next 12-15 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mast Ranch exudes tons of depth and pure power to match its dark, virile personality. Blackberry jam, cloves, graphite, ink and dark spices give the 2014 its distinctly brooding expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. I would prefer to cellar the 2014 for at least 2-3 years to see if a degree of finesse appears. Today, the 2014 is a bit monolithic.
