Score 85/100 · Drink 2011-2015, Robert Parker, May 2011
A solidly made, straightforward, somewhat superficial effort, the 2008 reveals herbaceously-tinged red and black fruits, licorice and spice. Consume it over the next 3-4 years.

Rather inexpressive on the nose and palate but rounded and still fresh. Lacks energy and life. (JH)

Fragrant, lively nose and good balance – just very slightly skinny in the middle. Certainly fresh and brisk. Maybe a little light but should make very pleasing 'luncheon claret'. Perhaps not much selection here? (JR)
About the producer

Maucaillou
Owned by the négociant Dourthe, this Moulis property has 87 hectares of vines today (with 67 added by Philippe Dourthe since 1967). Managed and made by an expert team, the quality here is hardly surprising.
