Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Rocca-Collinetta Vineyard, from a site in the cooler, southern end of the valley, is more aromatic and complex, with Bordeaux-like notes of black currants, tobacco leaf, damp earth, and some gamey, bloody, herbal nuances. Fresh and lively on the palate, with medium to full body, it has nicely integrated acidity, fine tannins, and a great finish. It in the same qualitative realm as the straight Cabernet yet in a much more fresh, focused style. It too is going to benefit from short-term cellaring.

The deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Collinetta Vineyard is scented of cedar chest, wild sage, tilled soil and menthol over a core of warm blackcurrants and baked blueberries. Full-bodied, firm and pleasantly chewy, it finishes on a pleasant stewed tea note.
