Tasting notes
Aged 15 months in 29% new French oak, from a site in the Russian River Valley, the 2017 Chardonnay Alana Vineyard sports a vivid gold (there’s almost a hint of green) to go with a beautiful notes of caramelized limes, honeyed citrus, white flowers, and hints of toasted nuts. This vibrant, medium-bodied, elegant Chardonnay has a terrific mix of both richness and freshness, fabulous balance, and a great finish. It’s well worth seeking out and should evolve for 5-7 years.

The 2017 Chardonnay Alana aged 15 months in 29% new French oak. It has appealing aromas of fresh quince, Bosc pear and golden apples with accents of hazelnut, lemon pith, stone and baker’s yeast plus a honeyed touch coming through with time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is silky and offers great flavor intensity, juicy freshness and a long, energetic finish. 162 cases produced.
This is positioned at the riper end of the scale with aromas of buttered popcorn and peach brulee, as well as praline and honey. The palate has a smooth and fleshy feel with bright and fresh fruit flesh on offer. Drink or hold.
