Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Dark red. Aromas of crunchy berries complicated by a smoky, leafy, vegetal complexity. Juicy but supple in the mouth; has a Chinon-like freshness but a bit more density and sweetness than the typical Loire Valley red. Shapely and fairly concentrated. Finishes with a flavor of red cherry, fresh acidity and very fine, light tannins. May yet develop more complexity in bottle.
