Tasting notes
The 2013 Ghiaie della Furba is terrific. Capezzana's blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot delivers the goods, and them some. Dark, pliant and beautifully expressive in the glass, the 2013 offers plenty of explosiveness and richness, but in a more restrained style than was once the case there. The aromatics alone are captivating. Plum, violet, licorice and smoke all develop in a vivid, potent wine. There is so much personality here.

The 2013 Ghiaie della Furba is a dark, deep and penetrating red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. It opens to an inky dark color followed by very ripe aromas of jammy fruit and cherry liqueur. The wine sports thick texture that sits a bit heavy on the palate. But there is so much ripe fruit here that the final effect is one of lasting softness and roundness. It's almost too much.
