The 2007 Chianti Classico is soft, pleasing and harmonious. The red fruit is ripe and expansive, but the wine has retained excellent freshness, all of which adds up to a very appealing bottle of Chianti Classico. The long, polished finish makes it hard to resist a second taste.
Oenologist Maurizio Castelli Medium deep garnet, with violet reflexes. Attractively sweet but somewhat alcoholic nose. Tangy cherry fruit of medium length and stalky tannins. Ends warm. A good wine, but not entirely worth the three bicchieri it recently was awarded with. (WS)
