Tasting notes
Aged 18 months in 88% new French oak, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon shows a still vivid purple hue and a gorgeous nose that's just starting to develop some secondary nuances. Blackcurrants, leather, cedar pencil, truffly earth, and chocolate all shine here, and it has a top Saint-Emilion-like style that's hard not to love. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated, beautifully textured, and layered, with a great finish, drink this fabulous effort over the coming 20 years or more. Drink 2025-2045.

Sourced from the Stagecoach Vineyard, Patland's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon—the current release—incorporates small percentages of Malbec (4%) and Petit Verdot (2%). Aged almost entirely in new French oak, that toasty element comes through, alongside hints of dusty earth, cassis and blackberries. Full-bodied and concentrated, it's nevertheless tart and juicy, framed by slightly coarse tannins on the finish.
