Tasted blind. First bottle TCA. Second bottle: Dark cherry. Volatile and harsh. Tough tannins. I am not sure if this was faulty but we agreed to score it, unlike a couple of other wines where both bottles clearly had seemingly unredeemable faults. (JH)

It has taken this property several decades to rebound following its sale by the Cordier family. Now under new ownership and with Hubert de Bouard consulting, the 2013, a blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, aromas of vanillin, charcoal embers, black currants and sweet cherries, and a medium-bodied, surprisingly fleshy, succulent personality. Atypical for the vintage, this is a noteworthy success as well as a major sleeper of the vintage. It should sell for a realistic price when released in early 2015. Drink it over the next 7-10 years.
