A slightly deeper ruby color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Summum has a darker profile all around, with more intensity and depth. It’s created from smaller and more compact clusters that were individually selected from the same vines that go into La Source. It boasts a woodsier character, with notes of black raspberries, pine, mint, and violets. Medium to full-bodied, it offers weightless depth, with refined structure, ripe tannins, and a long-lasting finish. It deserves to be cellared for another few years to show its best. Drink 2027-2047. The team at Evening Land is currently overseen by winemakers Sashi Moorman and John Faulkner.

Fermented with whole clusters, the 2022 Pinot Noir Summum unfurls dramatically on the nose, wafts of tar and underbrush giving way to cranberry, autumn leaves and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate has a concentrated core of nuanced fruit. It’s structured by silky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, bitters-laced finish.
Pale ruby verging on purple in colour. Very herbal and medicinal nose, a bit green, with black plum and brown spice. Dark warming spices – cardamom and clove on the palate with high acidity. Finish isn't quite as long or vibrant as La Source 2022. (SCJ)
