The 2022 Pinot Noir Corrine Vineyard Wadensvil Block comes from vines planted in 1991 in Willakenzie soils. Matured in 21% new oak, it opens with broody tones of woodsmoke and wet leaves that give way to brambly red fruit on the nose. The medium-bodied palate pairs wild fruit character with streaks of earth and flint, which lend it a pleasing rusticity. It has a chalky texture and will benefit from a year or two in the bottle. 320 cases were made.

A youthful ruby/magenta wine from 32-year-old vines, the 2022 Pinot Noir Corrine Vineyard Wadensvil Block offers aromas of dark stones, wild herbs, and brambly black raspberries. It has a good deal of intensity on the palate, with a medium frame, great energy, and a fantastic crystalline feel. It’s a stunning wine. Unfortunately, the vineyard has phylloxera and has to be replanted, but boy, this is one to get a hold of while it’s here. A next-level red from Patricia Green, I want to snatch up a bunch of this. Drink 2025-2045.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountain Vineyard Wadensvil Block is distinctly savory, blending dried cherries with hints of sage and shaved cedar. This is round yet juicy in feel with crisp red berry fruits propelled by zesty acidity, building tension toward the close. A web of fine-grained tannins wraps the palate in youthful poise, mixing with a primary concentration that further enhances the 2022’s tense personality. Patience will be required.
