Score 91/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

Incorporating 7% Viognier, the 2012 Syrah Ruckus comes all from Red Mountain, from two top vineyards; Ciel du Cheval and Klipsun. Aged 16 months in 23% new French oak, it’s beautifully textured and elegant, with plenty of kirsch liqueur, chocolate, graphite, toasted spice and cured meat aromas and flavors. It has classic Red Mountain characteristics, with a savory, nicely concentrated, layered profile that will drink nicely for another decade.
