Fleshy and subtly chewy on the palate, offering appealingly sweet black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that become livelier through the midpalate. Closes long and spicy, with a repeating vanilla note and steadily building tannins. 50% new French oak.

There are two releases from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Starting with the 2017 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard, it has a ripe, sexy bouquet of sweet black cherries, ripe strawberries, cola, spice box, and dried flowers. Medium-bodied and lightly textured, with nicely integrated acidity, it’s a balanced, charming Pinot Noir to enjoy over the coming 5-7 years.
