Score 91/100 · Drink 2014-2022, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Aug 2014

Also outstanding, the 2011 Toro de Paso is made from 35% Tempranillo, 25% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and 20% Merlot, all of which spent 18 months in a combination of French and American oak. Giving up kirsch, exotic wood and spice-box aromas and flavors, it has top-notch purity, medium to full-bodied richness and plenty of polished tannin on the finish. It makes the most of the cooler vintage and will drink nicely over the coming 7-8 years. This is another fine set of releases from winemaker Edgar Torres. Tel. (805) 423-3545; www.bodegadeedgar.com
