Medium red. Powerful aromas of ripe cherry, smoked meat and iron gained in power as the wine opened in the glass. Thick and unctuous, with a sweet dark fruit character as well as a degree of oomph that's atypical for Thomas's wines. Very intriguing pinot with red and dark fruit flavors, sweet underbrush and tobacco qualities, and a mocha note that builds through the finish. Give this time in a decanter, or a half-decade in the bottle.
