Tasting notes
The 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino is a transparent red/garnet color and boasts notes of dried strawberries, spice, clove, dried orange peel, and baked earth. Medium-bodied, it’s light on its feet with bright acidity, fine tannins, and a clean finish. I enjoy the wine's energy, though it's likely to drink its best over the next 5-6 years.

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino opens with vibrant black cherries, rock dust and sweet sage. This is soothingly round and soft-textured with vividly ripe wild berry fruits, hints of citrus and violet inner florals. So pretty yet complex, the 2021 tapers off with excellent length as edgy tannins offset a sour berry resonance.
Mid ruby. Minerally chalky raspberry nose with just a touch of oak. Lifted, fresh raspberry fruit with lots of acidity that could do with a little more stuffing to balance it out. (WS)
