Score 92/100 · Drink 2030-2038, Angus Hughson, Vinous, Sep 2022

The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon John Riddoch offers up a leafier, more traditional expression of Coonawarra that retains its vibrancy and freshness. Plump blackcurrants, red currants, crushed leaves and choc-mint provide an enticing opening. The palate, however, does not quite live up to expectations with firm acidity and chewy tannins delivering a sinewy texture which currently seems a little heavy. This may come around in time.
