Tasting notes
The 2015 Gran Mascota Cabernet Sauvignon was produced with grapes from the Valle de Uco, from a slightly warmer, riper year, but still an El Niño vintage. It fermented in concrete vats and matured in French barriques for 15 months. It has herbal notes, a little blurry, with tobacco and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with some dusty tannins. 120,000 bottles produced.

(14.5% alcohol; aged for 15 months in new French oak): Bright medium ruby. High-toned aromas of cassis, licorice, herbs and violet. Denser than the dry-edged 2017 entry-level Cabernet, showing more buffering material but still a bit green for my taste. Finishes with black fruits, violet and herbs, the tannins turning a bit dry and dusty with air.
