A blend of 75% Grenache, 13% Syrah and 12% Mourvèdre, the 2016 The Third Man has a red-fruited nose of soft red and black spices layered over a sandy core with delicate red flowers. Medium-bodied on the palate, the wine showcases strawberry, black cherry and black raspberry with subtle spice notes that give way to a focused mid-palate, effortlessly balancing acidity, tannins and flavor intensity. This GSM blend lingers on the finish with spiced cherry notes and dusty rose petals. 519 cases produced.

Fermented with plenty of stems, the 2016 Grenache Third Man (75% Grenache, 13% Syrah, and 12% Mourvèdre) sports a medium ruby color as well as perfumed notes of red fruits, white flowers, spice, and peppery herbs. Elegant, seamless, and silky, with no hard edges, it's a beautiful, again elegant, wine to drink over the coming 6-8 years. While I continue to love the wines from Gramercy Cellars, I found these latest releases, while still outstanding, to be a clear step down from previous vintages.
Bright medium red. High-pitched spices and rose petal lift aromas of red berries and black pepper. A juicy, penetrating, nicely delineated midweight delivering a lovely blend of flowers, red fruits and soil tones. Finishes firm, with wonderfully suave tannins and lovely rising red fruits and flowers. I particularly enjoyed this wine's light touch.
