Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Very ripe, soil-inflected aromas of raspberry liqueur, leather and underbrush. Plush, sweet, round and mouthfilling, with seamless flavors of red berries, leather and earth. Finishes with plenty of broad, dusty tannins but has the depth of fruit and balance to support 15 years of evolution in bottle. In a rather full-blown style but it works!

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is a rich, fleshy wine endowed with layers of expressive red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice. All of the elements are beautifully balanced in this sumptuous, highly expressive Brunello. This is a terrific showing from Franco Pacenti. The 2007 spent 36 months in cask.

Deep, maturing ruby with orange tinge. Very straightforward and ripe with fruitcake notes. Could be a bit fresher and more complex. (WS)
