Tasting notes
A saturated ruby color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Hyland Vineyard is potent with notes of graphite, black cherry, and rosemary. Refined and medium to full-bodied, it has a hint of gamey earth, with ripe tannins, a mouthwatering mineral texture, and a structured finish. It’s deceptively up-front and feels rich in structure, yet it remains balanced and well done. Drink 2024-2036.

Two different blocks at the same elevation, one planted 1972 and another planted 1989. Site established by four families in 1971 ‘in the middle of nowhere. I can’t imagine why these four people planted it here, way south-west of McMinnville’, says Jim Anderson about this site 45 minutes south of the Patricia Green winery. A 135-acre site on a steep hillside amphitheatre, rising up to 1,000 ft – great views! Volcanic Jory soils. Complex nose and clones from the Loire. (Sancerre?) Spice and herbs and great freshness and savour. (JR)
