Tasting notes
The 2017 Malbec Reserve is a gorgeous wine, and one of the highlights in this range. Inky red cherry, pomegranate, wild flowers and blood orange saturate the palate. Sumptuous and exotic to the core, the Malbec is wonderfully exuberant and so expressive. The Reserve is a blend of fruit from the estate, in Sonoma Valley, and a second site in Knights Valley.

Composed of 90% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Malbec Reserve was aged for 18 months in French oak, 95% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it bursts form the glass with baked black plums, blueberry compote and cedar notions plus nuances of chocolate mint, lilacs and pencil lead. The full-bodied palate is a little charry with a chewy texture somewhat swamping the fruit, and it finishes a little rustic. 466 cases were made.
