Tasting notes
The 2019 Malbec Casali 12 Blend comes from Crocker Estate Vineyard south of St. Helena. It offers textbook Malbec blue fruits as well as notes of violets, sappy, minty herbs, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and just an overall balanced, elegant, incredibly satisfying style. Drink it over the coming 10-12 years, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep longer.

The 2019 Malbec Casali 12 has plenty of Malbec fruit, and that is appealing, but the hard, astringent tannins are much less so. There is good potential here for the future, but this wine needs more finesse in the tannins.
The 2019 Malbec Casali 12 is composed of 85% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from the estate vineyard in St. Helena. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with flamboyant scents of stewed plums and blueberry preserves, plus hints of violets, spice cake and fragrant soil. Medium to full-bodied, it has an alluring plush texture and bags of juicy blue fruits with lots of floral and spicy sparks, finishing long and perfumed. 526 cases were made.
