Score 91/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2014

The 1999 Brunello di Montalcino opens to evident oak tones, thick extraction and a masculine personality. The bouquet is redolent of pressed rose, crushed flower, licorice, cassis and candied cherry. The wine really pops and snaps in the mouth thanks to the almost crunchy freshness it presents on the finish. That natural acidity goes a long way to keep the wine young at heart. Drink: 2014-2024.
