Tasting notes
The 2019 Chardonnay Red Point was matured for 14 months in 50% new oak. It has singularly spicy tones of fine herbs, white pepper and flint accenting a delicate core of white peach. The medium-bodied palate's expansive flavors are supported by a touch of textural grip and zesty acidity, and it has a long, gently leesy finish. 404 cases were made.

The 2019 Chardonnay Red Point is a bright, piercing wine. Crushed rocks, lime, slate, menthol, white flowers and sage lend notable volume. There is good depth in the glass and plenty of texture too, but the 2019 is very bright and intensely saline, with all of its energy seemingly directed inwards.
A more rounded, concentrated, sexy Chardonnay, the 2019 Chardonnay Red Point Vineyard comes from a southeast-facing site in the Alexander Valley and vines planted in 1994. It's always a bigger, richer wine in this lineup, yet it has beautiful balance, good acidity, and ample minerality in its stone fruits, brioche, honeysuckle, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. It has real class and will keep for at least 7-8 years, if not a decade, if well stored.
