Score 89/100 · Drink 2025-2032, Neal Martin, Mar 2025
The 2023 Fleurie Chapelle des Bois comes from 40-to-50-year-old vines with a small amount of younger vines on sand/pink granite soils. This has a more concentrated oyster shell-tinged bouquet that is much more backward in style. The palate is medium-bodied, tart and fresh, with crunchy red fruit and noticeable acidity. It's not long but full of nascent energy. This will be difficult to resist in its flush of youth.
