Score 89/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Blanchots-Dessus has some conspicuous new wood on the nose and unlike say, Marc Colin's Vide-Bourse, it tends to obscure the terroir expression (at least at the moment). The palate is balanced and more modern in style, with candied peach and pineapple, nicely judged acidity but just a little oaky on the finish. It is quite a commercial Chassagne in many ways, though one that I feel is well managed in the winery, a Chassagne for those seeking fruité rather than mineralité.
