Tasting notes
(90% tempranillo and 10% albillo mayor) Vivid ruby. Highly perfumed bouquet of dark cherry, anise, pipe tobacco and cracked pepper. Lively, focused dark fruit flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and become spicier with aeration. A sweet oak quality emerges on the long, sappy, expansive finish. This benefits from air and should be even better with a few years of bottle age.

The 2007 Cyclo is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Blanca del Pais sourced from 3 vineyards ranging in age from 75-150 years. The Blanca del Pais was co-fermented with the Tempranillo. In total, 20% of the wine was aged in cement tank with 80% aged for 24 months in French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it proffers a compelling nose of smoke, pencil lead, incense, Asian spices, lavender, and blackberry. Suave and succulent on the palate, it admirably combines elegance and power along with impeccable balance and a 45-second finish. Cellar it for a minimum of 5 years and drink it from 2015 to 2027. Bodegas Finca Torremilanos is well known for its red wines but it also makes a very fine Cava. Importer: Aurelio Cabestrero, Grapes of Spain, Lorton, VA; www.grapesofspain.com
