Score 91-93/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Oct 2006

A 2005 Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese, from cask, smelled of fresh apple and peach with a youthfully yeasty overlay and hints of honey and wet stone. At once creamy and slick in texture, rich and refined on the palate, with grapefruit, lime, and tangerine citricity helping to balance its considerable sweetness and preserve clarity, this finishes with persistently fresh fruit and a reassuringly recognizable note of wet stone. Also recommended: 2005 Schiefer Riesling ($ unknown; 85). Various importers including: Ewald Moseler Selections, Portland OR
