Tasting notes
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru comes from a single parcel of 70-year-old vines on clayey soils. This has an almost creamy bouquet with scents of Anjou pear, Mont Blanc and wild peach that blossom in the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity, sensual and focused with a slightly peachy, completely seductive finish. Maybe not quite as tensile as Moreau's other cuvées but it's going to be impossible to resist in its youth.

Offering up aromas of pear, waxy citrus fruits and white flowers, the 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with racy acids and a long, saline finish. Moreau has brought real cut and tension to this site in this cooler vintage.
