Tasting notes
Lots of red and black currant fruits, underbrush, chocolate, and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Franc, which is all Cabernet Franc from the Crocker Estate in St. Helena. Aged 20 months in 75% new French oak, this medium to full-bodied, incredibly elegant red has a savory, layered mouthfeel, silky tannins, and just a complete, complex, balanced profile that’s going to evolve for 15 years or more. It’s unquestionably one of the great buys at the under-$100 price point.

Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Cabernet Franc Estate has a deep garnet-purple color. It comes skipping out of the glass with cheery, carefree scents of ripe black and red plums, mulberries, black cherries and fragrant earth, leading to touches of cardamom and rose oil plus a waft of dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate features bags of bright, lively fruit with an elegant, plush texture and a spicy lift on the finish. 682 cases were made.
