The deep plum/purple-colored 2016 Château La Rose Perriere is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the Lussac region of Saint Emilion. It offers a beautiful bouquet of ripe blackberries, blueberries, high-quality oak, and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, and concentrated, it has terrific purity of fruit, building tannins, and loads to love. It's one of the riper, more powerful wines from the Lussac region.

The 2016 La Rose Perrière has a deep color. The nose is tight and rather reticent, a little flat compared to other Lussac Saint-Émilions. The palate is chewy on the entry, with sappy black fruit and veins of cassis , but it lacks vigor and tension on the finish.

The 2016 La Rose Perrière is a big, juicy wine. Super-ripe blackberry, chocolate, leather and spice, along with the wine's natural richness, yield an especially bold, flamboyant Lussac-Saint-Émilion. There is quite a bit of oak sweetness, but the wood has begun to integrate. This is an especially flamboyant style and yet it works well. Jean-Philippe Fort and Alain Raynaud consult.
