Tasting notes
Meat juice, mint, eucalypt, very well-defined and pure with a cracking black pepper finish. Diverse flavour profile, worthy of its premium price. (RH)

Marin’s 2006 Syrah comes from a tiny 10 acre parcel. It is a remarkably perfumed wine with smoky notes, cinnamon, pepper, and blueberry in a racy, cool-climate style. It is an austere, individual expression of Syrah that delivers major complexity. It should reach its peak with another 5-7 years of cellaring and drink well through 2026. Maria Luz Marin, Chile’s first and most prominent female vigneron, has single-handedly put together this small gem of a winery in cool-climate San Antonio, just a few kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. Her wines are a reflection of her vision and as individualistic as anything produced in Chile. Importer: Domaine Select, New York, NY; Tel: (212)279-0799
Very attractive stalky, minty, herbal smell. Sweet taste, but savoury, fresh and with medium depth. Lovely. (MJ)
