Tasting notes
The 2015 Angelicall has a pale garnet color. It takes time to open on the nose, offering hints of tar, dried flowers, crushed berries and dried, exotic herbs. In the mouth, it's light-bodied but textural, offering up loads of intense, singular character—elegantly degraded fruits laced with earthy nuance—and its flavors continue to expand and expand in the mouth, lifted and enlivened by juicy acidity. It's an unusual, singular rosé that I find a lot of pleasure in—both in terms of interest and flavor.

(this is really a quasi-rosé as it is fermented and sees extended aging in oak barrels, like a red wine) Pale orange-rimmed red. Heady mineral- and spice-accented raspberry, blood orange and candied rose scents, along with succulent herb and rhubarb accents. Sappy, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering intense red berry and floral pastille flavors that show excellent concentration and energy. Juicy acidity adds freshness and drives a strikingly long red-fruit- and floral-tinged finish framed by discreet, harmonious tannins. This wine has a solid track record for aging.
