Score 90/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Oct 2017

Even deeper ruby colored than the Clos Pepe Release, the 2015 Pinot Noir Rita's Crown offers slightly more lifted notes of blueberries, violets, incense, and potpourri. It's ripe, concentrated and sexy, with lots of fruit, yet stays nicely balanced on the palate. If it wasn't for the slightly elevated volatile acidity, this would have rated higher.

Deep ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Rita's Crown Vineyard opens with quite an earthy nose of damp earth, underbrush and mossy bark over warm red currants, black cherries and mulberries plus a waft of iron ore. Full-bodied, rich and earthy, it gives a lovely understated intensity, finishing with lingering dusty earth and spice box notes.
