Tasting notes
Sweet black raspberry aromas intermingle with mineral and new oak in this impressively endowed, well-delineated effort from Priorato. The percentage of new oak is high, but there is plenty of concentration/extract for balance. Young, exuberant, and pure, it will last for a decade ... at the minimum. Deep ruby-red. Fresh aromas of dark berries, minerals, licorice, dark chocolate and menthol. Dense, thick and chewy; layered and impressively sweet, with a minty nuance. Reminded me of a big California cabernet. Really mouthfilling wine. Finishes with lush tannins and subtle brown spices. Outstanding for the vintage, and perhaps the most complete release yet for this estate.
