Gorgeous and silken, the 2019 Generation Dix-Neuf is a ball of beautiful, silky, concentrated Pinot Noir. Savory and smoky, it seems effortless, although it's clearly been anything but based on the impeccable quality. It caresses the palate. There's intensity and density here but no weight. The 2019 is a very complete wine that's still young.

The 2019 Generation XIX red is a deftly handled wine. It manages to be both rich and restrained, dense yet elegant. Finely scented and complex with black cherry, festive spices, tea leaves and a hint of black olive that linger long on the sinewy, drawn-out finish. You can expect your mouth to be swathed in an attractive chalky texture.

The 2019 Sancerre Génération Dix-Neuf (XIX) is deep, complex and subtle on the nose that reveals flinty as well as yeasty and delicate phenolic notes intertwined with perfectly ripe and elegant stone fruit aromas such as mangos. Fresh, round and very elegant on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, minerally tensioned and elegantly textured Sancerre with fine tannins and an intense and saline finish. The only problem I have: the wine is already pretty matured. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2022.
