Tasting Notes
The second wine of both La Mission and Haut-Brion, the 2024 La Clarte De Haut-Brion Blanc is largely Semillon yet includes 35.5% Sauvignon Blanc. Crushed citrus, tart pineapple, mint, and some mineral notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with rock-solid mid-palate density, nicely integrated acidity, and a crisp, clean finish. It shows the fresh style of the vintage while still bringing solid depth and texture. It's an impressive second wine.

Intriguing. Distinct. Floral, but I can’t quite nail the descriptor. Green tea, black tea leaf, white melon, citron pressé, elderflower and orange blossom, a hint of candlewax. Cool, fresh and intense on the attack, that impression intensified by the narrow frame and the forward thrust on the palate from the attack. Quite intense, dense and concentrated, yet always fresh and always charged with acidity. Maybe lacking just a little complexity, but nicely achieved and very expressive of the vintage.
Skyrockets out with intense scents of lime cordial, fresh grapefruit, and lemonade, plus hints of chalk dust and chamomile blossoms. The light-bodied palate is lively and intense with chalky sparks complementing the zesty flavors, finishing with impressive length.
A delicate smoky reduction followed by aromas of pear, spring blossoms and flowers introduces the 2024 La Clarté de Haut-Brion, a medium to full-bodied, sappy and layered wine with a fleshy palate due to its proportion of Sémillon, with a lively, saline texture. This is a blend of 64.5% Sémillon and 35.5% Sauvignon Blanc.
