Tasting Notes
Notes of boxwood, pear and white peach preface the 2024 Blanc from Puygueraud, a medium-bodied, bright and juicy wine framed by a lively mid-palate with a slightly phenolic finish. It is already in bottle.

Plenty of grip and character, touch of lime zest and lemongrass, kiwi even, good quality if austere, with richer preserved citrus as it opens. 500l oak casks, Thienpont family, clay-limestone slopes. Harvested before the rain, Loire Sauvignon clones. Harvest September 16 to 24, only keeping the first pass through the vines. Tasted twice.
The 2024 Puygueraud Blanc is missing a bit of complexity and mineralité on the nose. The palate is balanced with a tangy orange peel note on the entry and modest weight. However, I was hoping for a bit more tension on the finish. Not bad, but intuition tells me this could have been better.
White peaches, orange rind, green apples, mango, and apricot pop from the perfume. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, juicy, fresh, and pure, with balance between its sweetness, lift, and layers of ripe, bright fruits. The wine blends 78% Sauvignon Blanc with 22% Sauvignon Gris.
