Tasting Notes
Orange blossom, honeysuckle, a hint of saffron and a cascade of citrus. A little confit melon too. Very crisp and bright, energetic and aerial, yet with a lovely sense of structure, forged as much by the acidity as by anything else. This has a pronounced sense of freshness like a firehose pointed upwards in the mouth spraying juicy sapidity so that it descends down the cheeks. A lovely harmony.

51 hl/ha. Famille Jean-jacques De Bethmann, lime and citrus zest aromatics, lovely grip, depth and lift, ôpwerful austere, high acidity, this feels like it is teetering on the edge of a great great white wine, and i can't wait to taste in bottle.
The 2024 Olivier Blanc has an open and expressive bouquet with orchard fruit, grass cuttings and subtle tropical scents in the background. Fine delineation. The palate is fresh on the entry with orange pith/rind, citrus peel and touches of kumquat. With satisfying precision and length towards the finish, this is a white Olivier with potential.
White peaches, flowers, and citrus are available with little to no effort. The juicy lemons are accompanied by pink grapefruit, mango, tangerine, and green apples with a crisp, crunchy bite on the palate that carries through to the finish. This is going to be delicious to enjoy on release. The wine blends 80% Sauvignon Blanc, and 20% Semillon, 13% ABV.
About the producer

Ch. Olivier is one of the few actual castles in Bordeaux – coming with a moat and drawbridge. Since Alexandre de Bethmann took over here in 2012, the château has been given a new lease of life, with quality on the rise.
